I am assistant professor of public administration and public policy at the Université catholique de Louvain. As a researcher, I work on two research programs.
Policy learning and policy change – My first research program aims at facilitating policy change processes through a better understanding of decision-makers’ cognition and social interactions. In this research program, I focus on technical and/or economic policy sectors such as the railways or the energy.
Street-level bureaucracy & organizational socialization – In my second research program, I look at public officials, especially frontline officials. I examine the nature and quality of their interactions with citizens. I am also interested in the socialization of newcomers within public organizations – a key process that influences their future attitude towards their organization and their colleagues, as well as the citizens they serve. I develop this research program in various sectors, such as the tax or judicial administrations.
